I.D. Magazine

Chee was Editor in Chief of I.D. Magazine from 1993 - 2000, transforming a minor trade journal into a five-time National Magazine Award winner under her watch. As the magazine was re-envisioned, so were the boundaries of design. “Chee Pearlman has made lead stories out of such unlikely subjects as pasta, prosthetic devices, plastic coffee cup lids and bugs,” wrote New York Times architecture critic Herbert Muschamp. A compendium of design innovation across disciplines – graphics, products, digital, environments and transportation -- I.D. Magazine broke ground for design publishing as well as for the professions it covered.
